Campbell teaches art at the Glenlyon Norfolk School located in Victoria, BC, through the New Extreme program of the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria.

A Thirteen Year Retrospective
Jul. 6, 2005 - Jul. 26, 2005 in the McPherson Library Gallery

Eva Campbell's interest in the human figure is orchestrated between studying her own body and self and that of others. Her subjects are often constructed by the artist using her own body-parts as models, combined with elements of others' figures drawn from real life or remembered via photos. The majority of her figures are female. "I am exploring expressions of the body in relation to women's subjectivities, constructions of gender, race and exoticism" Eva writes in her artist's statement
Eva Campbell is well known not only as an artist both in gallery- and Moss Street Paint-in contexts (where in 2004 she was given the annual Monday Magazine’s People’s Choice Award); she is also known as an active lecturer and pathbreaking scholar. Campbell has distinguished herself by creating courses on African art and adding to the rich cultural diversity of the campus.

Campbell's early and her most recent paintings portray scenes from her life in Canada, Ghana and the Caribbean that represent the strength and individuality of working class black women. The middle period of her work show explorations of more conceptual and overtly political perspectives and incorporate experimental materials.
The exhibit was curated by Dr. Astri Wright of the University of Victoria History in Art Department. Dr. Wright's research and curatorial interests focus on the concerns of artists living hybrid identities and creating art in and between multiple cultural contexts.
